Misi's Tuesday Display Chain...Favorite Hat/ Collection

Thank you Misi from 1890 Gable House Musings and Pam from Civil Folks for the great suggestion.
I know we all have a favorite hat in our collections.

This is one of my favorites.  I do not know the age but would guess early 1920's.
Brim is woven taffeta with a black silk band with bow.

The crown is beaver fur, hat is lined

This appears to be a winter hat as it is very heavy.

This is a simple day cap, unique as the back ruffle buttons off

so you can wear it as a day cap.

So many projects, so little time

I am burning the midnight candle again as I have so many projects and such limited time.  My retail job really cuts into my crafting hours but then again it helps fund those crafts so can't complain too much.  I have strings of cranberry's drying for garlands, one batch of orange slices are dried, Banana Nut bread is baked for Thanksgiving and on my next day off I will try making my  first Sweet Potato garland.   Special thanks to KM Primitives kmprimitives.com for her tutorial's, the orange slices were fun and easy can't wait to try the SP garland.

Every year I put together Christmas goody bags for special friends at the store (now up to 12) looks like it will be homemade Blackberry Jam with biscut fixings.  Guess I had better stock up on some more sugar!!!!  Also wanted to share a picture of a great flea market find and some sale items picked up at my local Prim Shop.

 Here are pics of my flea market find.  This is a very unusual wooden box with a glass front door, hinged on the side and closes with a small hook.  Sits on a wooden base that is attached.  Well, since I love anything wood it just called out to me.  The inside was blank.  I thought it would make a great piece to display  something prim.  After showing husband my great find, he thought it should be made into a mantle clock, which I have also been searching for.  He took over the project, researched clock works on the web, purchased a vintage clock works and installed it inside my unusual wood box.  It is battery operated and the pendulum swings back and forth.  It looks so perfectly prim.  Oh, I forgot to mention the wooden box cost me $9.00, the clock works cost ??? husband said it was my anniversary present, what a guy. 

These are my adorable sale items.
The Primitive Peddler primitivepeddler.net was having her 1/2 price sale in her shop so these cute guys came home with me.  Along with some signs and candles, it was a fun day of shopping.  Her Christmas Open House is This Sat and Sun Nov 6 and 7.  I have to work, of course, but will bee line it down there on my lunch break.
