We are never prepared

for what we expect. 

I sit here this evening pondering over the meaning of

this quote I came across today.  

"We are never prepared for what we expect" 

Of course the first thing that comes to mind is the death 

of a loved one suffering from Alzheimer disease.  As we watch

the shine in their eyes slowly drift away,

"we know what to expect but we are never prepared!"

Observing the changes of my grand girls this Christmas 2015.

Leaving behind the age of innocence,

they have entered into their preteen years.

Giggly girls flirting with makeup and boys,

grandma taking a backseat to cell phones and facebook.

"We are never prepared for what we expect."

Love, unconditional never ending love.

A captivating love, exciting and enduring. 

The promise of love always and forever.

I wanted this kind of love,

but never in my wildest dreams

did I dare to expect it nor prepare for it. 

Thank you my precious husband.

Today is over,

 tomorrow is a new beginning.

 "We are never prepared for what we expect."

Shoot for the moon, even if you miss

you'll land among the stars.
