October is the month

When the smallest breeze

Introducing Esther

Esther
Biblical meaning: Hidden Courage
Puritan meaning: Star
Esther is my latest creation,
oh what a mysterious gal she is.
Her captivating eyes make you wonder
just what stories she has to share.
 

The Story of Esther
Esther was born an Israelite,
an orphan she was adopted by her family.
What a beauty she was, wise with a goodness of heart.

King Xerxes of Persia was looking for a wife,
 he sent his servants throughout the land in search
of all the beautiful young maidens.
Esther was one of the chosen few.

The King was so taken with Esther's beauty
and impressed with her sensitive kind heart,
he chose her...

Esther became Queen of Persia.

An evil man Haman, was a friend of King Xerxes,
Haman disliked Esther's father, his plan was to have
all of the Israelites killed.
Esther's  father brought this to her attention
and asked for her help.

Esther, knowing she was an Israelite, would be exposed
and put to death under this ruling. 
Esther had the courage to face her King,
begged him to spare her life and the lives of her people.

Who dares to do this King Xerxes demanded,
cruel Haman said Esther pointing to her enemy.

The King ordered Haman to be hung immediately.
Esther and her people were saved.

 Courage and boldness to approach her King
without being asked, Esther risked her life.
In those days no one approached the King
 without an invitation.

We to may have to risk all that is dear to us
when we speak up for what is right.
But like Esther, we can be sure that
the results of our efforts are in God's hands.

Esther: Hidden Courage - Star 
an appropriate name for this doll of mine.

A Dee Duncan pattern was used for Esther's face and body.

Burlap, muslin, cheesecloth and flax were used
to bring Miss Esther to life.
I will enjoy her for bit and then may sell her on Ebay.

Thrilled to be "Crafting" again

Seems like forever since I have been able to create and craft.

"Forever" meaning over a year, 

oh yea the Ozark Cabin did cut into my craft time

but oh it was so worth it.

 Still tweaking and changing the upstairs rooms 

but that is not work, just a lot of fun!

A big thank you to Dee Duncan,

I have fallen for her amazing patterns.

I simply love these primitive dolls with real faces.

Also a thank you to the Graphics Fairy

for her wonderful free graphics,

I used these to make the dolls aprons.

Horse hair from my neighbors stock and

raw flax was used to create

 the most prim hair ever

The many textures of burlap, 

cheesecloth, onasburg and muslin

makes for an awesome primitive combination.

I have simply fallen in love with these sweet lady's,

it will be hard to give them up.

Angels Among Us

This is one of my favorite  Prim Angels

"Hope" 

Silently she stands keeping watch over all.

From the early morning rays

till the soft glow of evening light,

She is a constant reminder 

of Faith, Love and "Hope".

The Gift ~Life Begins~

  Gifts come in numerous shapes and sizes,

some are large and others are small,

 sent me a very precious gift.

 

Tonya's Note

Tonya's heart is so large I don't think
 I could even begin to wrap my arms around it.
Tonya lives life with passion, hard work and lots of laughs.
Even though she has had a rough year in 2012 with,
numerous surgery's, car problems, losing her dear "cat"

Tonya takes the time to think about others.
 while thrifting one day
she found a special gift just for me.

Tonya remembered my post about Ina Petersen's baby book
dated 1918 I found in a Colorado flea market
When she saw this sweet baby book, she thought of me.
I feel so honored.

An empty book, no entry's were made, how sad.
 Sounds like the makings of another story here!

My precious gift is on display in the

vintage white cabinet located in
Jesse's Room at Woodmist Cabin
