Family Reunion

Good morning friends.  Excitement level is high today as we prepare to head home to "Wisconsin" to attend our family reunion.  The little lost black sheep is finding her way to the flock.  It has been 8 years since I have seen my 3 brothers and 2 years have past since I last visited my 3 sisters.  Many of them have never seen my sweet grand girls.  Where does the time go, eight years is a long time, there will be a lot of catching up that is for sure.  Hopefully we will all look better than the folks in this picture, Ha Ha.....This is a real photo taken in the Ghost Town  where my cabin is located in Turret Colorado.  Year is around 1900.  Building is no longer there but you can feel these pioneer's spirit when you walk the dirt roads of our neat little town. I plan on doing a blog about our cabin in this town.  The "Cabin Fever Primitives" picture you see above was a pic of our cabin before we restored it.  I just love that old pic, it talks to me every time I see it.  When I return from the reunion I will post a picture and info about what it looks like now, so keep checking back.  Our cabin was the "Last Post Office" closing it's doors in 1939.  As always, I hope you all can experience the "Magic of an Ordinary Day"...........Connie

Amish Bread Day

Today is Amish Friendship Bread baking day at my home.  I have been baking Amish Bread since last August.  Thanks to my #1 daughter, she got me started and now I can't stop.  The best part about baking the bread is the joy I receive when I give it away to family and friends.  Chocolate chuck nut was the recipe I used today and they smell so good.  Almost time for coffee break with my best friend, I'm sure we will have to sample this batch of muffins.  Instead of making the loaves of bread I make muffins, which has been a big hit with everyone.  I have a new blog that I follow and these girls are great.  Click on this link  Mennonite Girls.

Remember all the great Fathers today, not only today but every day.  My Dad's spirit visits me often. Many times we shared the holiday, my birthday and Fathers Day, that was always special.  Dad is gone now but never forgotten.  In my heart I am still his little "spunk"  Love you Dad.........."Everyday is a Gift"

Ordinary Days

Hello Prim Friends,
This is my first post on my blog. I thought what a better time than today as this is "my birthday". I will always remember when I started blogging. Just an ordinary day. An ordinary day is a great day, nothing special but nothing tragic either. I love the movie "Ordinary Days". If your life is filled with ordinary days you are blessed. I remember as a child there were a lot of "ordinary" days, which I thought was boring but now at 59 realize they were the best. I look forward to ordinary days, sewing in 95 degree heat, morning coffee break with my best friend (hubby), evening catch up phone call with number #1 daughter, a little computer time (or a lot) searching prim stuff, and finally calling it a day around midnight with Katie my cat. I dedicate this first blog to the magic and beauty of "Ordinary Days" and wish you all have a lot of them.
